Well... I always think chic flick is a genre and you cant really compare with action movies or other "main stream" movies.
It is a gd chic-flick. chances of it happening is just as slim as meeting a prince. I wonder if any girl would give up that life-style and go back to school. what will happen after that? she wont be able to do what she wants if she ends up getting married with the prince.
I think it would be better if they just make it a fairytale ending, since it is a fairytale and you dun need to make any sense of it... by making it "realistic" would only expose more flaws of the plot.
