Review of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969) by Tim C — 30 Jan 2008
The first time I saw Maggie Smith was in Sister Act as a straight-laced, tradition bound, Mother Superior. I did not know that her career spanned from the 60s and made an impression garnering two Oscars, one for this film, where she is the embodied 60s woman, and a modern educator.
Any person who wants to enter the teaching profession needs to watch this film, because it inspires you. After all, education may be structurally set on a set curriculum, but it takes a true educator to challenge the status quo and think( as well as encourage others to think) outside the box.
