Review of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969) by David S — 26 Apr 2009
This is Maggie Smith's show al the way - her Oscar winning performance is superb and totally worthy of the Academy Award. Smith plays a teacher at an all girl school who lives through her younger students and refuses to succumb to old age.
Based on a stage play, the script reflects this with a very sharp dialogue that plays to Smith's strengths. There are a few slow moments, yes but overall this is a terrific film.
