Interesting movie. Kind of the anti-Dead Poets Society or other similar films. Maggie Smith's character is a terrible teacher. Although it fits her character, I wonder how it might have changed peoples' perceptions of of Jean Brodie if they didn't make her a protofascist but gave her ideals of liberty/democracy/etc - she'd be just as wrong and as bad of a teacher.
