Review of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969) by Mloy X — 22 Oct 2013
I didn't know anything about this except Maggie Smith plays a schoolteacher, so I was expecting lonely spinster business. Nope! She's a bit of a free-thinker, or at least she thinks she is, in 1932 Edinburgh.
But she's problematic, in that she walks around praising Mussolini and Franco, and encouraging her "girls" to do the same.
