Forget the fact that you don't like baseball or the Yankees, this film is one of the best embodiments of the American Dream that exists on screen. Lou Gehrig is such a likable person and so unselfish that it almost kills you to see his body break down due to his disease.
His final speech is the perfect climax to an unbelievably good movie and life bio (tear-jerking). That is, if any of you people nowadays can sit through a black and white movie...god forbid, you may actually have to pay attention to dialog to understand what's happening.
