Review of The Prestige (2006) by Astridi. — 13 Nov 2006
I did not regret watching this film at all. It was wondrous and intellectually stimulating: it succeeded in creating a thrilling, philosophical weave exploring human nature, science and what else but magic.
Such films are rare. Some parts of it did not have to be realistic for one to enjoy - the nature of a good story sometimes involves a bit of fable, genuine warmth and true depth at its very core. The Prestige simply delivers.
Do not let the easy guesswork at the ending, or the length of the film, faze you. Highly recommended.
