Review of The Prestige (2006) by Mark D — 28 Dec 2013
The academy won't love it but I do. Rich period murder mystery thriller. Two magicians do battle for the position of pre-eminence in turn of the last century London. Who can blur the line between science and magic and take the audience with them? Darkly mind bending feeding you clues just millimeters outside believability and comprehension.
Builds slowly to a crescendo just the way a masterpiece should. Not pop art but art none the less.
