Like a car accident...you can't help but watch even though you know where it ends. I was around in 1984, came from a low income family, surrounded by preps, and I can relate to the 5th wheel syndrome that prompts one to do stupid shit.
Not an award winning film, but compelling. I liked Mann in Earl, and I like his performance here. Great actor.
