Review of The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007) by Sergio E — 20 Jan 2009
Like another similar styled film (The Last Broadcast), this film weaves together different mediums and storytelling techniques to deliver a rather chilling film. It got under my skin big time more than most films as of late have.
The brutish nature of the footage in stark contrast to the interview segments really sucks you in. If you don't mind going places you normally wouldn't consider in a horror film, check this out.
Be warned however, if you have delicate sensibilities this one will disturb you. Horror vets may find it to be kiddie stuff (pun intended), but it is one film I wouldn't have my wife watch. It hits home a little too close.
