Review of The Post (2017) by David O — 24 Jan 2018
While the Post doesn't make total advantage of its great story, the tension and drama Spielberg brings coupled with excellent performances from Streep and Hanks, still make this a special film. As the film unfolds so too does, Streep and Hank's characters who grow in confidence despite the sometimes forced themes of women in the workplace.
While it has its flaws especially its tendency to veer off pace which damage its rhythm when we are in the core of the drama and story, the Post excels. The film is helped by great visuals, world building and backed with a great score from the fourth star John Williams.
