The Post leans heavily on Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks that are as amazing as always, but narratively the post does not deliver. Trying to be All the President Men, The Post never comes close to the heights reached in that film.
The Post never gives a real reason to care about these characters through a story that is presented rather mundanely. Certain moments work dramatically, and the performances hold the film together, but overall I found the film to be a slog.
