Review of The Post (2017) by Ka M — 20 Feb 2018
I was surprised how flat The Post came off. I think Streep and Hanks are two of the best actors in American cinema today, but somehow there wasn't any real tension or drama. Remember All The President's Men? Now, THAT one had drama. Seemed to me that after seeing the trailer, I'd seen the movie. Strangely, every engaging, humorous, or dramatic plot point was in the trailer.
Frankly, I was very surprised. Maybe next time (loved Streep in Frankie and the Flash, for example, and Hanks in Bridge of Spies...).
