Review of The Post (2017) by Jackson R — 29 Mar 2018
The pacing for Steven Spielberg's dramatization of The Washington Post's struggles with the Nixion administration over the publication of the Pentagon Papers does drag on at times and The New York Times role in the true story is completely overlooked.
However, Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks's performances, the interesting ideas about how the press works and the all-too important message of how vital free speech is, in troubled times, makes The Post one of the better Oscar-bait films out there.
