"The Post" | B- | Entertaining retelling of the Pentagon Papers saga which tested the boundaries of the First Amendment. Streep shines, Hanks is solid, but Spiellberg continues his streak of beating the audience over the head.
The film would've been a true Oscar contender under the guidance of a more nuanced director. And it's a bit ironic (or predictable?) that a Speilberg film about the media contains distortions and half-truths like the misleading Watergate clip at the very end.
