Review of The Possession (2012) by Cherriflavored B — 10 Jan 2014
This movie would be tolerable if the director had any vision or knack for atmosphere. The film fails to engulf one into caring for Natasha Calis' character, Emily, because the side-effects of the box make her an annoying, bratty, aloof tween which is already one of the most hated demographics in America.
Honestly, a demonic box that makes a girl eat like a pig, not listen the first time she is told something, and punctuate each mediocre line with the word "my" proceeded by "box". Had this been a comedy it would have won a Cannes Film Festival award, but in reality it is a formulaic attempt to score box office scratch.
