Review of The Pool (2001) by Anders F — 23 Nov 2008
A beautiful, quite sinister and ultimately confusing little thriller. When thinking about this film three things come to mind: the scenery is gorgeous, Sagnier spends 3/4 of her onscreen time naked, and Rampling is a very fine subtle actor.
Some shots definitely made my neck crawl, and for reasons that aren't obvious. Sadly the ending is a bit too opaque. Still, well worth a look. And Ozon knows how to structure shots!
