Review of The Polka King (2017) by Hala A — 14 Jan 2018
Just watched the movie on Netflix and thought it was a well done, fascinating movie. Jack Black really encompasses Jan Lewan and his rollercoaster adult life. Watching clips of the original Lewan, I thought Jack did him justice.
You almost route for him knowing it's wrong because he does have good intentions at the end of the day. Jackie Weaver was insane as Barbara, you almost hate her for not believing in Jan's bigger than life ambitious.
She'd better get an award for her role, that's all I'm saying.
