Review of The Polar Express (2004) by Dr. F P — 29 Nov 2013
It's just not very exciting and the animation is kind of creepy; like those weird asian crime reenactments but a lot better quality. I think with a whole lot more effort this could have been an exciting adventure movie if it had been done live action instead of animated, but I guess that'd cost a lot of money.
The Polar Express doesn't take too many risks and the children are horribly bland. Tom Hank's conductor is a bit creepy. The train could easily depart to a concentration camp for all the tone of the movie.
