Review of The Polar Express (2004) by Keisha M — 20 Nov 2012
While this is a good film to put you in the holiday mood, it has uncomfortable Christian messages of "just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not real," which should strictly be reserved for churches. Sometimes the movie gives a good dose of "fun," which is quickly ruined by the Eddie Deezen kid who will just NOT shut up. Because there isn't much "Story" to the book (it was a short children's book), the movie had to be padded, and desperately, to make it longer, and that meant adding in elements that seemed both entertaining and boring at the same time. There's also nothing special about drawing over an actual human person, and it lacks beauty due to this.
Overall, I, like almost everyone else, will save this movie for when the holidays come around, and otherwise leave it collecting dust on the shelf.
