A stunningly beautiful visual experience hampered, like so much anime, by a half-baked, slow-moving script that leaves too many holes in its plot. The eye candy factor is off the charts, however, so if that's all it takes to hook you, you'll be in hog heaven here.
Shinkai needs to bring his writing up to the caliber of his visuals, and then he'll truly be a world class animator.
