"The Place Beyond The Pines" is unlike any typical drama. There's a few good movies about intersecting story-lines of characters, but never have I seen a movie where the intersection changes the movie's perspective from one character to the other and do it so closely.
So close, that it is not just in the bullet, but in the blood. It is a somber, three-act piece that treats each like its own movie, but builds the web so wonderfully, we are constantly reminded we are just watching chapters in one.
