Review of The Place Beyond the Pines (2013) by Heather F — 18 Jan 2014
T.P.B.T.P" was a cleverly done film, with beautiful undertones. An artistically done film, that has a direction and follows through with its storylines. An unpredictable enjoyment. Just when you think you have it figured out, Cianfrance throws a curveball, and you're not where you thought it was going.
The acting is great on all major and minor roles. "Pines" achieves the goal of sitting back and enjoying a movie with some thought and intellect I behind it. I'd suggest going into it blind, as I did, and just enjoy where it takes you.
Beautiful film, and by far one of my favourites I've seen a long time.
