Review of The Pixar Story (2007) by Jeremy C — 16 Jun 2010
Wonderfully put together documentary about Pixar and its creators. To the hardcore fans, there's not much new here (some of it feels like it's just a mash-up of all the special features found on Pixar film DVDs) but to those who don't follow all the behind-the-scenes stories, it's a great summary of the company's history.
More than anything, it's always a treat seeing the amazing concept artwork that goes into each Pixar project. Fun fact: the film's director is Leslie Iwerks, Ub Iwerks granddaughter. Ub Iwerks was (and sometimes forgotten) co-creator of Mickey Mouse and one of Walt Disney's oldest collaborators.
