Review of The Pixar Story (2007) by Diego T — 01 Oct 2012
Movie magic has been made, and this documents how.
PLOT:This being a documentary, there's not really a plot-just a subject to chatter on about. The subbject is Pixar, its creators, how it got started, what they went through, how CG movies were treated and how they survived. Being a lover of the art of computer animation, the whole idea and how it began dazzled me with wide, star-studded eyes of what my life may be and what inspires it. It brought on tears of well mixed emotions of how my passion grew and how much of it was put in here.
ACTING:Non,of course. They were lovely role models and visionaries though!
SCORE:It's just all of the score of all Pixar movies from Toy Story to Cars thrown together at certain moments.
ANIMATION:All the Pixar and then some. I saw all they had worked on and was just startled. They worked on the CAPS in "Beauty and The Beast", all of their short films, they came up with the idea for the "Brave Little Toaster", worked with "Star Wars" and the glass man in "Young SHerlock Holmes" (I think). And I saw movies that I overall just want to see with computer animation! P.S.:Lemme know if you can find a copy of the animated film/short film "Vol Libre". I want to see this early work of animation real bad.
OTHER CONTENT:Unlike other documentaries, this one keeps me entertained throughout with only mere seconds of the boring stuff. Maybe it was because it was on a subject I enjoy, but it ceased to bore me. This is a doc I will probably watch again in the future.
OVERALL,an epic documentary on the story of Pixar's beginnings and troubles with loads of emotion on my favorite subject, great inspiration, and just an eyes-wide experience for me.
