Review of The Pit and the Pendulum (1991) by Maura M — 08 Jun 2007

I've got a soft spot for this movie; it's got a little of everything (a bit messily put together, some might claim), but a sense of humour (never too far away in a Stuart Gordon-film) goes a long way - its refusal to take itself too seriously is what redeems it, to my eyes at least.

Plenty of allusions to a number of Poe-tales that should keep the afficionado happy; & Lance Henriksen, Jeff Combs & Oliver Reed in the same movie!!
