I was pretty disappointed considering I love most of Stuart Gordon's movies. It's not really anything to do with the Edgar Allan Poe story, just based around the backstory of the story. Parts of it were darkly comedic, which Gordon is really good at, but it ran a little long and the main christian girl annoyed me.
I think Stuart Gordon is better adapting H.P. Lovecraft than Poe.
