Review of The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists! (2012) by Dan H — 21 Feb 2013
You gotta love a film that enjoys making Charles Darwin look like a complete idiot and likes to call scientists "Nerds". The film's theme about friendship and loyalty is a strong one, the character work is pretty good, and the jokes are just great (both the adult jokes, like one about looking down ladies shirts, and the kid jokes).
This film is yet another fine outing by Aardman Studios, they have yet to disappoint me. It's a short film (boy does it fly by...a little too quickly if one must be honest. On the same coin though, I could see how if they chose to make it longer it could have hurt the film, so I guess they made the right choice there), but it's also pretty sweet.
I honestly prefer this film to Wreck-It Ralph.
