Review of The Pink Panther (1963) by Mark S — 31 Jul 2007
A fun tale of intrigue and comedy. While Peter Sellers has been given top billing in hindsight, that role really belongs to David Niven as the suave Sir Charles Lytton. Sellers's Inspector Clouseau is limited to a supporting role.
The first half of the movie is more of a tale of intrigue, while the latter half is more comedic. Better than its sequel, "A Shot in the Dark," it set a precedent that would be followed by countless Pink Panther sequels and cartoons.
