Review of The Pink Panther (1963) by Jim W — 26 Feb 2009
I sort of liked the other films more. Since I saw the sequels first, I was a little disappointed by this one. It's a little too slow and Peter Sellers as Jacques Clouseau is more like a side character.
It's less like any of the other films. While Sellers doesn't really show his true genius until the costume party scene. David Niven basically owns this original film as a womanizer who Clouseau believes to be the thief known as the Phantom.
