Review of The Pink Panther (1963) by Alexander ? — 23 Sep 2009
I hate to use the word overrated because it's so misused (and pointless) but Pink Panther is exactly that in regards to the beloved status it's achieved over the years. There's really nothing about this movie makes the remotest of sense and it feels like there should have been required reading to help you pick up where the "plot" begins.
.. but that's farce, I suppose. Either you like slapstick and hallway-chase gags or you don't. This has its early 60's charm but frankly it's not my bag, mostly because it feels like a Bond film with all the sex, violence and intrigue removed.
..which equates to walking around aimlessly in hotel lobbies.
