The Peter Sellers Pink Panther movies were the crown jewels on Blake Edwards' resume for slapstick comedy. The originial is one of my favorite comedies of all time. Unlike the recent putrid remakes by Steve Martin, the original Pink Panther movie had the perfect balance between silly and serious.
Too silly and it's simply a parody. Too serious and the comedy seems out of place. A great film.
