Review of The Pink Panther (1963) by Catherine T — 02 Jan 2013
A classic caper comedy. Apparently, Blake Edwards planned for David Niven to be the main character, and his Sir Charles is, nominally, the focus of the movie, as the jewel thief known as "The Phantom.
" But Edwards became fascinated by Peter Sellers' embodiment of Clouseau and kept adding business for him to perform. The film holds up well, and is still laugh-out-loud funny.
