Review of The Piano Teacher (2001) by Pavandeep S — 25 Oct 2008
A really complex character study with really strikingly perversed and intense performances. I really had difficulty going through the film as it really has this touch of putting the audience in an uncomfortable closeness with the movie, it sometimes becomes unbearable.
Hanake's aim is precisely that, to use cinema as a tool for explorations of various emotions.
