Review of The Piano (1993) by Myriam M — 23 Nov 2009
This is one of the first "adult" movies I remember seeing, what was I back then, 9 or something? It left an unforgettable impression, and it was in fact weird watching this again now, almost 15 years later.
.. And realizing how much I still remembered from the first watch. I like the story and the characters, even if there ARE of course some pointless ones in the film too. (What's with that aunt? Nnngh.
) I also read the book that was written after the movie, and it clarified some actions and scenes nicely - So if you liked this film, you might want to consider the book, too. Not a masterpiece as a book, but an addition to the film nonetheless.
