Review of The Piano (1993) by Benn K — 11 Jun 2012
Small, yet powerful details are what made this film enjoyable. An underlying flow of different emotions from the different characters masked and supressed by an outer shade of social etiquette and keeping the status quo, give the film a tender yet foreign relatability, mostly achieved by the breathtaking beauty of New Zealand's countryside and the well-crafted script by the director Jane Campion.
