Review of The Pianist (2002) by Laura N — 24 Jan 2011
A phenomenal story about the true life experiences of Wladyslaw Szpilman during World War II. Adrien Brody did an amazing job. And I just have to say, that although I have my issues with Roman Polanski and his fleeing justice for so long, he has a good eye as a director.
One scene in particular hit me. Szpilman, jumps over a stone wall and you see that Warsaw has simply been destroyed. The whole landscape is rubble. A heartbreaking movie, but worth seeing.
