The Pianist is a chilling and emotionally touching film based on the true life story of Jewish musician Wladyslaw Szpilman. It is a film that shows the destruction of the Warsaw ghetto of WW2 and the full extent of how the Polish Jews were treated.
The Pianist is a film that can be upsetting and shocking. Adrien Brody deserves applause for his role as Szpilman and for me it is his best ever acting performance. The Pianist is beautifully directed; Polanski has produced a stunning visual narrative of the war and it goes down as one of my all time favourites.
