Review of The Pianist (2002) by Jake D — 27 Mar 2011
The Pianist to start off with is such a great film. Adrien Brody's finest performance without a doubt.
The film follows Władysław Szpilman a Pianist with unremarkable talent, but his talent is put on hold due to the actions of World War 2. This film definitely gets the emotions running. I've seen films about World War 2 before, and most of them get you pretty pissed off about the past, and this one is no exception, I was in shock by some of the actions I was seeing take life right before my eyes, I don't want to ruin things for thse who haven't seen this magnificent film, but some are just beyond cruel.
Thiis film is as powerful, as it is moveing, I regret that it has taken me this long to see it, but am glad because the younger me would not have probably appreciated it as much. If there is anyone who has not seen this who is reading this review go watch it right now skip what you are doing, and watch it, unless the thing you are doing is more important, but if all you were planning on ding is reading/writing reviews that can wait go watch this instead.
