An absolutely wonderful movie and great adaptation of Noah Gordon's book "The Physician"..... I haven't watched such an enjoyable and lavishly produced historical film since the likes of Kingdom of Heaven.
... the imagery is astounding throughout the movie and for a bit of fiction it is historically believable and leaves the viewer wondering how much was based on fact...... the director of photography did a gorgeous job in creating a very atmospheric movie, the cast giving a first class performance throughout.
.... the story is very elaborate and intense to the very last moment with a major splattering of battle action and intrigue throughout...... this is one of those movies that would shine in anyone's DVD Collection.
