Review of The Philadelphia Story (1940) by Michael E — 19 Feb 2008
It took me a while getting into the film. I was bored with it at the very beginning, I had no idea where it was going to go. Soon after the reporters came into hepburn's life, it became more interesting as things started to progress.
Over all it's a great romantic comedy. Hepburn, simply gorgeous! Grant and Stewart are fantastic actors. Great stuff I should say. This is truely a remarkable classic and todays films that are supposedly romantic comedy's need to take a lesson in how to construct one.
Today's romantic comedy's consistently revolve around sex and crude humor. It gets old really quick.
