The Philadelphia Story has big star power with the likes of Hepburn, Stewart, and Grant clipping off bits of staccato dialogue that is typical of the era, but the climax was silly and nonsensical as marriage proposals flew around like ticker tape at a parade.
Perhaps I took it too seriously...
