Review of The Phantom Tollbooth (1970) by Brian R — 12 Mar 2009
An unsung masterpiece of American animation. A fantastic adaptation of one of the finest children's books ever written that honors its source while utilizing the filmic medium. Much of the genius wordplay and ideas manages to stay true in the film.
Plus this is the only feature length film directed by Chuck Jones, I don't know why it's not an American classic and a staple in every family's home. It's not even on DVD for christ's sake!!!
