Review of The Phantom of the Opera (1925) by Todd D — 12 Aug 2009
First things first, Lon Chaney is excellent as the Phantom, amazing make-up and genuinely scary looking. Apart from that this whole film is pedestrian to the extreme...added to that we're suppose to empaphise with the Phantom who just happened to drop a chandelier on some people's heads.
Plus we have a Phantom named Erick...Erick...really? Dated and dull.
