Review of The Perfect Storm (2000) by Keshia G — 23 Feb 2013
First off, this movie is cornier than a cornfield. You've been warned. The script is so abundant in cliche its almost like it took a bath in it. On a more positive note, Clooney and Wahlberg give noteworthy performances (only ones in the movie unfortunately) and the special effects were well done.
Lastly, I really enjoyed the movie's score; it captured the essence of the subject matter perfectly! These factors manage to redeem the film... somewhat. All in all, "The Perfect Storm" ends up being a movie that is just average.
Give it a watch, see what you think. Maybe you'll disagree. One things for sure though, I'll never look at fishermen the same way again.
