Review of The Perfect Score (2004) by Danny S — 16 Feb 2011
"The Perfect Score" 10 Scale Rating: 2.5 (Horrible) ...
I liked it better when it was called "The Breakfast Club" ...
Six high school students, sick of the SAT standing in the way of their future, decide to break in and steal the answers. Along the way there is bonding ... and pot smoking ... and bad acting.
The movie was more than an ode to the classic "Breakfast Club", it was at times a direct rip off. At one point they even quote the movie as if they are saying "nyah nyah, we totally stole this idea". The stereotypes are all there. The nerd, the jock, the outcast, the athlete, etc etc. Instead of detention, they are all brought together to fight the man via the SAT.
The jokes were terrible. The script was rubbish. The acting was stiff and forced, even with Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson leading the way.
If you see this movie on cable late at night, watch infomercials instead.
