Review of The People Under the Stairs (1991) by Alex B — 12 Apr 2013
This is definitely one of Wes Craven's more underrated films. I can understand how people would be turned off by its ridiculousness and there is an attempt at social commentary which ultimately gets lost amongst all of the chaos.
It's just such a fun film with the great performances from Everett McGill and Wendy Robie, and the hilariously batshit insane script which has so many demented twists and turns. It's like the ultimate funhouse of horror movies.
