Review of The Peanuts Movie (2015) by Jono M — 03 Jun 2016
I'm definitely not the right demographic for The Peanuts Movie. I'm too young to be nostalgic for the famous comic strip, and too old to be a person that a movie like this is aiming for. With all that being said, I enjoyed it.
I'd never read a Peanuts comic strip in my life, and had absolutely no background going into the film, so there's a fair chance that a few of the things I liked were already established from previous stories.
Having no adults appear (except for the sound of their muffled voices) was a nice touch. Not showing the full face of the red-haired love interest for most of the running time was also pretty cool. I'm not a Snoopy fan in this; most of his bits were lame and unfunny.
The plot moved forward with stories that were like a series of comic strips, but it all came together to work towards a common overall goal.
