Review of The Pawnbroker (1965) by Robert W — 30 Nov 2007
This film hits my stomach hard, from start, a bit of release in the middle then to finish. That scene in the train where he is travelling underground and starts to confuse passengers (mainly old) sitting down as if they were holocaust victims in a chamber through - flashback - was something else.
It told me that we cannot run away from our fears. Oh, and when I saw Steiger in Amytiville horror after I viewed him with religious respecet, mainly due to this film, and his performance.
