Review of The Patriot (2000) by Dann W — 08 Dec 2011
Upon recent viewing, I've decided to change my review to this: DAMN YOU MEL GIBSON AND ROLAND EMMERICH FOR MAKING ME CRY! Showing emotional scenes between a father and daughter get me everytime, ever since I became a dad.
That stuff never used to bother me, but now I become a wreck. Other than that, this movie was better than I originally gave it credit for. For a three hour movie, it's very well-paced so you don't even notice it's length.
The action scenes are well done, and most of the acting is pretty good. It's also nice to see Rene Auberjonois (Odo, ST: DS9) get his action on. Good popcorn flick with a side of emotional manipulation.
